The Wawa Family Health Team is excited to introduce a new Mental Health Skills Group – a program designed to support patients in building practical tools for managing their mental health in a safe and supportive environment.

It is a 6-week group run by Christa Melo, the Wawa Family Health Team’s social worker, and each session will include education, skill-building, and opportunities for group discussion. It is open to Wawa Family Health Team patients aged 18 and over. The first group will run from April 7th to May 12th, with weekly meetings held every Tuesday from 4:30-5:30PM in the Lady Dunn Health Centre Board Room. The group will be offered multiple times a year, so stay tuned for later dates if you can’t make this one.

Each group is limited to 10 participants at a time. Registration is required and can be done at the Wawa Family Health Team front desk, where you’ll be asked to complete a quick and simple registration form. Since spots are limited, we encourage anyone interested to sign up early.
If you’ve been looking for practical ways to support your own mental health and connect with others, this group may be a great fit. For more information or to register, stop by the Wawa Family Health Team front desk — we’d love to see you there!
